We grow a wide array of varietal grapes; however, with the limestone-rich soils, southern Rhone, Bordeaux, and especially Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese varietals are well represented.
As a winemaker, working with grape varietals such as Roussanne, Aglianico, Trebbiano, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, and Albariño, and bringing these to bottle while introducing them to customers, has been the experience of a lifetime.

While there are several trails available within the large boundary of the Texas Hill Country AVA, the main trails that provide maps and information are:
- Texas Hill Country Wineries Wine Trail: This is the official wine trail for the Texas Hill Country region and includes over 70 member wineries, paper maps, online maps, trail ideas, as well as other places to visit that make planning your trip very easy. It’s best to call ahead if you choose one of these trails:
- Wine Lovers Celebration (Feb) – Cozy up with reds and chocolates around Valentine’s Day.
- Wine & Wildflower Journey (April) – Springtime trail with wildflowers blooming and fresh whites/rosés.
- Texas Wine Month Passport (October) – The big one! Includes tastings at most member wineries with VIP events to start the month of October.
- Fredericksburg Wine Road 290 Trail: This is a more localized trail along Highway 290 from Johnson City to the city of Fredericksburg itself and includes over 20 wineries along this highway. It’s an easy trail, as it’s essentially one stretch of road where you can visit a few wineries each day. Many have weekly events and live music including Fat Ass Ranch and Winery.
- Driftwood Wine Trail: Located southwest of Austin is the town of Driftwood, the namesake of the trail. The trail runs along Ranch-to-Market Road 12 (RM 12) and off of RM 150, between Driftwood and Wimberley. This trail is super scenic, and notable in the area is the world-famous Salt Lick BBQ.
